NEW JERSEY WOMAN CHARGED WITH DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

Police charged a New Jersey woman for allegedly driving while intoxicated after a recent incident at a municipal building. A careless driving charge was issued along with the driving while intoxicated charge. The woman had no passengers in her car and no one was injured in the incident.

Police said they began observing their surveillance equipment after they heard a loud noise that they thought came from the front of their precinct. They claim they saw a car in front of the building drive from the sidewalk to the spot where it parked. They next saw the driver of the car, a female, get out to inspect the front of her car and then walk into the adjoining municipal building.

Police went outside to examine the scene for themselves and concluded the woman had been driving on a street that went beside the police department when she left the roadway. They say she then hit some of the pillars located at the front of the building. Even though they did not see the actual incident, their conclusions were apparently based on the damage done to the pillars and the woman’s car.

The woman was charged with driving while intoxicated and also careless driving. She will soon appear in court to answer to these charges. A large part of her defense could revolve around the fact that there appear to be no witnesses who observed her crashing the vehicle. Once she secures legal counsel, a strategy will be put into place that takes into account all evidence held by New Jersey police, and a decision will be made on how to move forward with the case.
